- Eugene Kelly was born February 19, 1934 to Ernest and Irene Kelly and
passed away February 4, 2016. He was a graduate of Terrell High
School, Denison, Texas. On June 16, 1957 he married Ms. Juanita
Toodle, married for 39 years. They were blessed with seven
children.
He worked as a forklift operator for Johnson & Johnson Medical and retired after 33 years of service. Eugene was ordained into the ministry in 1979 and pastored at LeHigh Baptist, Pleasant Grove Baptist, Community Baptist and Bethel Bells Baptist Church over his nearly 30 years pastoral tenure. He held several offices with the Sherman Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. A Celebration of Life was held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Sherman. Rev. Arnold Baker officiated with Rev. C.E. Evans as eulogist. Interment followed with military honors at West Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife; sons, Eugene II and Joel Luis; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by Jene Michelle Kelly of Sherman; Darryl Kelly and wife Alicia of Carrollton, Texas; Vincent T. Kelly and wife Elaine of Mableton, Georgia; Toni Harrison-Kelly of DeSoto, Texas; Shawna Nelson of Sherman; siblings, Edward Kelly and wife Wilma; Geneva Fisher; Sheila White; Ernestine Randle and husband Henry; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pauline Harrison; and a host of other loved ones and friends.
