FINAL RITES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. J.O. HAWTHORNE
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6 for Mrs. James Oliver Hawthorne, 64, who died at 6 a.m. Thursday at her home here.
Services were conducted at Waldo Funeral Chapel by Rev. Bill Hindman, pastor of First Baptist Church.  Interment was in West HilL Cemetery.
Mrs. Hawthorne was born March 16, 1904 at Clarksville, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Williams, and was the former Gladys M. Williams before her marriage July 30, 1927 at Garvin, Oklahoma.  She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors are her husband; four sons, James A. Hawthorne of Wright City, Oklahoma; and William Hawthorne, George Hawthorne and Steve Hawthorne, all of Howe; five daughters, Mrs. Velma Frampton, Mrs. Thelma Davis, and Mrs. Annie Peacock, all of Howe; Mrs. Betty Griffin of Ft. Worth; and Mrs. Allie Hargrove of Sherman; three brothers, Henry Williams of Sherman; John Williams of Roxton; and Tom Williams of Kemp; one step-daughter, Mrs. Luetta Walker of Wright City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. George Hawthorne of Bells and Mrs. George Thomas of Visalia, California; 23 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bobby Cowart, Eddie Huckabee, Kenneth Johnson, Charles Hines, Jack Harvey and Thomas Hawthorne.

J.O. HAWTHORNE RITES IN SHERMAN
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Waldo Funeral Chapel for Mr. James O. Hawthorne, 75, 525 N. Branch St. here, who died at 11 a.m. Saturday at a Sherman hospital after a brief illness.
Services were conducted by Rev. Bill Knight, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Sherman, with burial at West Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hawthorne was born February 7, 1894 at Raleigh, Mississippi, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hawthorne.  He had lived in Grayson County since 1957 and had farmed all of his life, retiring several years ago.
Survivors are four sons, James Hawthorne of Wright City, Oklahoma; William Hawthorne, George Hawthorne and Steve Hawthorne, all of Howe; daughters, Mrs. Luetta Walker of Wright City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Betty Griffin of Ft. Worth; Mrs. Allie Hargrove of Sherman; Mrs. Thelma Davis, Mrs. Velma Frampton and Mrs. Annie Peacock, all of  Howe; one brother, Henry Hawthorne of Corsicana; two sisters, Mrs. Birdie Stallings of Athens and Mrs. Ada Hayes of Dallas; 31 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Eddie Huckabee, Charles Hines, Bobby Cowart, Kenneth Johnson, Tom Hawthorne, and Jack Harvey.
