Sherman - Services for Eugene Stockbridge, 79, of Sherman, who died November 4, 2004, were held November 9, 2004 at Greater New Hop Baptist Church.  Rev. Freddie Cason officiated and burial was at West Hill Cemetery.
Eugene was born December 31, 1924 in Sherman.  He attended school at Sherman.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Lexington from 1943 to 1945.  Eugene married  Opal Stockbridge  on April 24, 1945.  He worked as a custodian at Austin College for 47 years.
Eugen was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Alvester Bowen; and daughter, Nona Ruth Davis.
Eugene is survived by his children, Larry Stockbridge of Sherman; Ann Gibbs of Mountain Home, Idaho; Laura Hall and Autry Stockbridge of Sherman; sisters, Ehtel Wynn of Denison and Doris Stockbridge; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and very devoted friends, Artie Sheppard and Mary Hunter.


Sherman - Graveside services for Larry Stockbridge, 77, were held on Saturday afternoon, November 6, 2021 at West Hill Cemetery.
Larry passed away Wednesday, October 19 in Sherman, Texas.  Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
