Whitewright, Texas - Funeral services for Ronald Lee Baze were held Saturday morning, September 8, 2012 at the Whitewright Church of Christ.  Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery with Pat Koczor, Tommy Henderson, Lane Selman, Steven Finley, Mark Welch, and Clint Shaffer serving as pallbears.  Brad Roberts, Ryan Doerner and Josh Boothe were honorary pallbearers.  Mr. Baze, 70, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.
Ronald was born February 12, 1942 in Bells, Texas, son of John P. and Nancy Carter Baze.  He graduated from Southmayd Schools in 1960 and married Letha Boothe on November 18, 1961 in Madill, Oklahoma.  Mr. Baze worked for 20 years at the Texas Power and Light, retiring in 1984.  He later worked as a homebuilder and developer, raised cattle, and co-owned the Discovery Learning Center in McKinney.  He was a Christian and had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1963.
"Cotton", as he was known to his friends, truly enjoyed life and people.  He was a true example of a "people person."  Traveling to Colorado to vacation with family or enjoying coffee at the local coffee shop was met with equal enthusiasm.  His entertaining personality will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Baze loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Letha of Whitewright; 2 daughters, Micah Nedrow and husband, Craig, of McKinney; and Melanie Kaczor and husband, Pat, of Whitewright; 5 grandchildren, Brad Roberts of Dallas; Aleisha Finley and husband, Steven, of McKinney; Linsey Henderson and husband, Tommy, of Whitewright; Amanda Selman and husband, Lane, of Frisco; and Kaitlyn Kaczor of College Station; 5 great-grandchildren,. Kennedy Stokes, Luke Finley, Lane Finley, Olivia Finley, and Reese Henderson; 2 sisters, Martha Baze of Sherman and Margaret Welch and husband, Albert, of Sherman; and numerous nices, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Bill Baze, Jerry Baze, and Johnny Paul Baze; and one sister, Margie Walker.
