Gregory Pruitt, 50, passed away on the evening of September 23, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on State Highway 11 outside of Tom Bean.  Services were held Tuesday morning, September 28, 2010 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman and burial followed in West Hill Cemetery.
Greg was born  on June 30, 1960 in Hughes Springs, and resided in Sherman and Tom Bean for the majority of his life.  He attended Sherman High School and attained his GED through his service in the U.S. Army.  While stationed in Germany, he was recognized as a decorated Calvary Scout Sniper.  Upon returning home, Greg worked at Alcoa Building Products in Denison for 22 years and most recently at Flexing Industries in Sherman.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carlynne Toshi Pruitt of Tom Bean; his sons, Jared Pruitt of New Orleans, Louisiana and Clinton Pruit of Tom Bean; his mother, Betty McCoy of Denison; and his father, Benny McCoy and wife, Charlotte, of Sherman; his brother, Leslie Pruitt and wife, Regina, of Denison; his sister, Kristi Garland and husband, Wayne, of Sherman; and 3 nieces, Krystal Pruitt of Sherman; Chelsea Pruitt of Denison; and Megan Garland of Sherman; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and Lorene McCoy; and Paul and Nadine Kennemer; and his cousin, Tammy Skinner.
Pallbearers were Jared Pruitt, Clinton Pruitt, Leslie Pruitt, Jason Pruitt, and Doyle 'Skee" Dodson.  Honorary pallbearers were Myron Espinda and Blane Thomas.
In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Gregory Allen Pruitt.
