 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas   Sherman - Funeral services for Richard Wade "Dickie" Taylor were held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev,. Duane Peters officiated. Burial followed in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Taylor, 69, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Texoma Medical Center. Richard was born November 18, 1948 in Sherman. He served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. On December 5, 1972 he and Judy Ann Blankenship were married in Durant. Mr. Taylor worked several years for Johnson & Johnson. In retirement he enjoyed reading, gardening, and cheering for his grandkids at their sporting events. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 45 years; 2 children, Russell Taylor of Sherman and Heidi Lyons and husband, Shawn, of Van Alstyne; 4 grandchildren, Ella, Owen, Paislee and Preslee; 3 sisters, Karen Tovey of Rome, Georgia; Terri Wrede of Howe; and Pamela Bagley; brother-in-law, Gary Blankenship and wife, Pat, of Denison; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wells Taylor and Vera Belle Hunter Taylor; brother-in-law, Terry Blankenship; father-in-law, Buddy Blankenship; and mother-in-law, Carmen Blankenship.
