Sherman - Funeral service for William Homer Turley, 88, former associate of Turley's Grocery and Market, who died early Friday morning at his residence, were held today in the chapel of First Baptist Church.  Dr. Howard McNamara of the church officiated, assisted by Rev. Loftus Nunley.  Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
Turley was born November19, 1906 in Sherman, a son of A. Gus Turley and Ella Ryland Turley.  He attended Sherman schools and was long time associated the family business, Turley's Grocery and Market.  On June 12, 1926 in Sherman he married Agnes Byars.  He served in the Air Force during World War II.  He was a Mason, member of the Andrew Randell Lodge, Sunday School departmental superintendent, choir member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Sherman.  He was also a member of the SPEBDQSA Inc., locally the chapter of Texoma Chordringers Chorus.
Survivors include his wife; brother, David Turley of Sherman; sister, Mary Faye Payne of Dallas; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Zeke Atkins, Max Bryant, William Clay, J.B. Summit, Wayne O'Neal, and Wayne Whitney.
