Born Vera Benton Boatwright in Salt Lake City, Utah to Grayd Lee and Vera (Benton) Boatwright
Married on August 10, 1940 to Rudolph E. Krueger in Los Angeles.  Settling in Burbank in 1944.  Vera was one of the few women of her time to get a pilot's license.  She involved herself in the Burbank PTA and other civic organizations.
With a Sea Scout background, Vera and Rudy sailed in races to Hawaii and along the Mexican coast.  They moved to Corona De Mar immedately following the 1967 Trans Pac sailboat race to Hawaii.  Vera volunteered for the "Friends of the Library" and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Master.
She was preceded by her husband in 1990; her parents; and a sister, Jeannie Toye of Portland, Oregon.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ernst (Lynn) Krueger of Houston; and Bill (Maureen) Kreuger of Orange; grandson, Ernie (Jennifer) Krueger of Aliso Veijo; 3 great-grandchildren, Mia, Marlowe, and Micah; sister-in-law, Ruthie (Arthur) Krueger Wehl; 3 nephews and 1 niece.
Interment took place in Sherman, Texas with her husband on Saturday, January 25, 2014.
