SHERMAN - Michael B. "Mike" Miller, 67, peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 2, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services for Mr. Miller were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at West Sherman Baptist Church, with Pastor Danny Wood officiating. Interment was at West Hill Cemetery.
Mike was born to Morris and Juanita Miller on April 8, 1942, in Tioga. He grew up and attended school in Sherman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958-1963, and attended Austin College upon his return. Mike had a long and successful career working in electrical power plant generation stations, including ones at Dallas Power and Light, Texas Utilities, GRDA, and Texas-New Mexico Power Co., from which he retired in 1995. Hunting, fishing, camping and wood-working were his favorite hobbies. Mike was the best husband ever, as well as a great Dad, and a loving PaPaw and uncle. 
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William S. Miller; the mother of his children, Karen Miller; and a granddaughter, Alexis Miller. 
Survivors include his loving wife of 13 years, Sherry; son, Michael B. Miller Jr. and wife Beth; daughter, Kimberly M. Miller and partner Stacy Jordan; stepdaughters, Lisa Antioco and husband John; Tammy Hurlbut and husband Steve; Amber Dobbins and husband Blake; stepson, Ty Thomason; uncle, Tommy Sides and wife Patt; 10 grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
Pallbearers were sons-in-law, John Antioco, Steve Hurlbut, and Blake Dobbins; and grandsons Michael Dalton, Matthew Hurlbut, and John-Ryan Miller. 
Memorials may be made to Universal Hospice and Palliative Care Facility, 1208 Country Club Lane, Fort Worth, Texas 76112; or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718.
