Mrs. W.J. Ferguson, 72, a former school teacher, died at her home, 1129 South Crockett, Saturday at 2:30 a.m.  She had lived at Sherman for 30 years.  Her death was unexpected.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the John C. Dannel Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Ed Barcus, pastor of the Travis Street Methodist Church, conducted the service.  Pallbearers were Joe H. Durning, J.J. Scull, C.E. Caruth, Leon Foshee, Clifton Douglas, and Frank Thompson.  Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Ferguson was born at McKinney, July 3, 1878, a daughter of J.P. and Fannie Wadell Nenney.  In 1905 she was married to W.J. Ferguson at McKinney.  Before her marriage, Mrs. Ferguson taught in the Bells school system and came to Sherman in 1920.  She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Allan G. Moore of Kilgore and Miss Seawillow Ferguson of Sherman; two brothers, W.F. Nenney of Tyler and C.G. Nenney of California; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Stevens and Mrs. J.B. Wilson, both of McKinney.
