John Newton LaBoone, 67, died at his home, 522 West Lamar, Friday at 6:10 p.m.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 4 p.m. from the Dannel-Scott Funeral Home with Rev. K.R. Isbell, pastor of the Key Memorial Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment was at West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers were John Sloan, A.J. Woodward, Clarence Aldridge, H.S. Hulsey, W.S. Hamilton, and L.W. Bates.
Mr. LaBoone was born in George on July 22, 1868.  He had been a resident of Sherman for 21 years.  A machinist by trade, Mr. LaBoone had engaged in this occupation for 40 years, having retired in 1927.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Linnie LaBoone; and a son, J.O. LaBoone of Sherman; three daughters, Mrs. A.B. Grantham, Jr. Houston; Mrs. Dallas Holcomb of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Mrs. W.S. Bronson of Dallas; two sons, O.C. LaBoone of St. Paul, Minnesota; and A.P. LaBoone of Plainview.  There is also a sister, Mrs. Josephine Ely of Hillsboro.

Mrs. Linnie J. La Boone, 69, of Dallas, formerly of Sherman, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in a Dallas hospital after a two years illness.  Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W.R. Zimmerman, pastor of the Key Memorial  Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial was in West Hill Cemetery, directed by Waldo Funeral Home.
She was born February 3, 1877, in Tennessee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Poer.  She married John N. La Boone in Ellis County, Texasm, who died September 26, 1935.  She had lived in Sherman for the past 30 years and moved to Dallas in 1946 to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. A.B. Grantham, Jr. 4339 Lemon Ave.
Mrs. La Boone was a member of the Key Memorial Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, John La Boome, Glendale, California; Ollie C. La Boone, St. Paul, Minnesota; and Arthur La Boone, Quay, New Mexico; three daughters, Mrs. Grantham, Jr., Dallas; Mrs. Dallas H. Holcomb, Dallas;  and Mrs. Will Orr, Dallas; three brothers, five sisters and seven grandchildren.
