DR. S.O. WOOD DEAD
Former Sherman Pastor Died at His Home in Crowell, Tex.

Dr. S.O. Wood, D.D., of Crowell, Texas, a former pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in this city, died at his home last night after a prolonged illness.
The body will be shipped to the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.H. Omohundro of Whitesboro, where the funeral will be conducted by Dr.  B. Wrenn Webb of this city at 10 o'clock.  The body will then be brought to Sherman in an automobile hearse and it is expected to leave Whitewboro at 11 o'clock and arrive in Sherman at West Hill Cemetery at 12 o'clock noon.
Dr. Wood will be remembered by many Sherman citizens.  It has been about 25 years ago since he was pastor of the church here.  He was an able preacher and a kindly man and did much in the early days of this city and North Texas to create a strong Christian sentiment.
He is survived by his second wife and the following children: Mrs. J.H. Omohundro of Whitesboro; Misses Daisy and Novella Wood of Bonham; Mrs. S.S. McDonald of Sherman; Miss Lottie Wood of Crowell; Mrs. McDonald is a step-daughter, the daughter of his present wife.
Dr. Wood had preached the gospel for 50 years and 47 years of the time he was actively engaged as a pastor.  He was a splendid man in every respect and his death will be regretted by a large number of friends.
The family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.  Especially do the people of Sherman sympathize with Mrs. Omohundro, who has within the past two days been called upon to part with a grown son and her father.
