JAMES WAKEFIELD DEAD
Former Sherman Young Man PASSED AWAY AT TEXARKANA YESTERDAY

George Wakefield of this city Friday afternoon received a telegram from Texarkana, announcing the death there of his nephew, James R. Wakefield, which occurred in the Cotton Belt Hospital at that place following an attack of typhoid malaria.
The body was shipped to Sherman for interment, arriving over the Cotton Belt at 10:40 this morning and burial was in West Hill Cemetery.  Services were conducted by Rev. Geo. F. Cuthrell, pastor of the Central Christian church.
Jamie Wakefield, as he was known to his Sherman friends, was born and reared in Sherman, being the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Wakefield.  He was united in marriage to Miss Aline Riley of this city, and is survived by his wife and one child; also by other relatives as follows: Mrs. J.P. Wakefield, his step mother, residing at No. 403 West Woodard street, Denison; and four sisters: Mrs. Margaret Rather of Reno, Nevada; Mrs. W.B. Steele of Waco; Miss Lucile Wakefield of Kiowa, Oklahoma; and Miss Mary Olivia Wakefield of Denison, and one brother, Howard Wakefield, also of Denison.
Mr. Wakefield was popular in this city, and his many friends regret exceedingly to learn of his death.  On reaching manhood's estate, he went to Denison, where he entered the employ of the Katy at the Ray yards, as register clerk.  Two years ago he moved to Dallas to accept a position with the Dallas Terminals, and at his death was chief clerk.
The following were pall bearers at the funeral: Carl Nall, Frank Mitchell, Arthur Wallace, Donald Rolison, Harry Handy and W.S. Carey.
Mrs. J.M. Weems and Miss Nina Kohler sang.
