Funeral services for Lavaughn A. "Spooky" Lively, 75, of Sherman were held Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Waldo Funeral Home chapel, Rev. Stan McNutt officiating and burial followed at West Hill Cemetery.  Service were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Spooky passed away January 15, 2009 at her residence in Sherman.
She was born September 7, 1933 in Estelline, daughter of Ruben H. and O. Lillian Martin.  After graduating high school, she later married Lawrence Craig Lively on February 4, 1956; he preceded her in death.  His military services moved them to several different states during their marriage.  She started working as a telephone operator in the 1950s in Olney and later in Alabama.  During the 1980s and 1990s she worked at Winn's and then Dollar General as a sales clerk.  Spooky was a member of the Liberty Lighthouse Church in Sherman.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Atkinson and husband, Randy, of Sherman; and Kimberli Crouse and husband, Gary, of Bells; son, Roger Lively and wife, Shawna, of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kevin Crouse; Keith Atkinson; Justin Atkinson; Preston Polson; Haylie Lively;  and Caroline Lively; brothers, Wayland Corgill and wife, Carole, of Gatesville; and Wortham Corgill and wife, Louise, of Tomball.  Spooky is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.  She was a loving wife, mother and her grandchildren adored their Nanny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Zita Bernhardt and Nilda Rogers. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
