Tom C. Leverett, a former Dallas resident 21 years before moving to Denison three years ago, died Thursday in a Denison hospital following a long illness.  He was 83.
Mr. Leverett was a retired Grayson County farmer.
A native of Arkansas, he came to Texas in 1901.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Eunice Leverett and Claude Leverett of Dallas and Ennis Leverett of Sedro Woolley, Washington; five daughters, Mrs. Irene Sullivan, Mrs. Clyde Jackson of Denison; Mrs. Ora Palmo of Houston; Mrs. Claude Maris of Sherman and Mrs. B.C. Nulisch of Dallas; one brother, Walter Leverett of Denison; one sister, Mrs. Cora Cause of Dallas; two half brothers, John Tensley and Pep Tensley of Mount Vernon, Franklin County; one half-sister, Mrs. Bob Causey of California; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandhildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Barrett Chapel in Sherman with the Rev. ernest Potter officiating.  Burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
