Denison - Services for Pastor James P. Kelly, 86, of Denison were held Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Trinity Lighthouse Church, Denison, with Pastor Anthony Washington of Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, McAlister, Oklahoma, officiating.  Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery.
Pastor Kelly was born August 19, 1927 and passed away Saturday Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Beacon Hill in Denison.  He was born August 19, 1927 to Ernest and Irene Kelly.  J.P. graduated in 1945 from Terrell High School. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from World War II through the Korean War.  He married the love of his life, Dorothy Nell Dehorney on November 4, 1946.  His love for the church, reading the Bible, and having a relationship with God lead him to pursue a career as a Pastor for many years.  Pastor Kelly was the Shepherd of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Hendrix, Oklahoma for 21 years and Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Atoka, Oklahoma for 46 years.  He also served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Laborers International Union of North Tesas for 31 years and was honored for 50 years of service.  He was the 3rd Moderator for the Central Wayland District of Churches for the State of Oklahoma.  Finally he worked for W.J. Wood Preserve for 50 years until his retirement.  He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church of Denison, Denison Citywide Ministerial Alliance and also a member of the H.C. Coleman Masonic Order.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, James E. Kelly.  
He is survived by his wife of 66 years; children, Minister Frances Rucker Jenkins, Minister Jimmy Kelly and wife Jackie of Denison, Minister Donnell Kelly and wife Lynn of San Diego, California; Minister Charles Kelly and wife Cynthia of Sherman; Tommy Joe Kelly and wife Pauline of Arlington; Michael Kelly and Special friend Kelly of Ft. Worth, Ronnie Kelly and wife Kelta of Duncanville; 51 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Thomas Rucker, III, Taurus Rucker, Desmond Kelly, Joshua Kelly, Keanon Kelly, Kevin Kelly, and Monte Kelly.  Honorary Pallbearers were the children of Pastor Kelly.


On Saturday, June 6, 2020 the Lord called one of his angels to her heavenly home - Dorothy Nell Kelly, 91.
Mrs. Kelly was born September 30, 1928 in Ravenna, Texas, daughter of George Washington and Azeal White-DeHorney-Topsy.  She attended Bonham High School and Paris Junior College.  Dorothy married the love of her life, Rev. James P. Kelly November 4, 1946.  The great joys of her life were her family, dear friends, and her faith in Jesus Christ.  Dorothy retired from Texas Instruments.  She was President of Wayland District Women Auxiliary of churches for the State of Oklahoma, First Lady of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hendrix, Oklahoma, and First Lady of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Atoka, Oklahoma; member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and honorary member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  She was a song bird at her church and in the community, with a servant's heart.  Always helping and doing for others.
Mrs. Kelly leaves behind her daughter, Frances Jenkins; sons, Jimmy Kelly, Donnell Kelly, Jesse Kelly, Charles Kelly, Tommie Joe Kelly, Michael Kelly and Ronnie Kelly.  Dorothy was cared for by her essential granddaughter, Tangee Rucker and great-grandson, Taivian Rucker.  She has 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren. and 2 great-great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James E. Kelly; brother, George W. Dehorney; and sister, Washie Nell Dehorney Hogan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly were held Saturday morning, June 13, 2020 at Trinity Lighthouse Church with Pastor Alton Blakley officiating.  She was laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas. - - - Fisher Funeral Home

Denison - James Edward "Billy" Kelly, 66,  entered into eteranl life Friday, June 7, 2013 in California.
Mr. Kelly was born August 3, 1946 in Denison, the son of James Paul Kelly and Dorothy Nell Dehorney.  Billy married the love of his life, Karen Davenport, and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.  He worked as a train engineer for Union Pacific Railroad for 25 years before retiring.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife of Denison; sons, Montee Omar Kelly of Canoga Park, California; Scott Anthony Minor of Germany; six grandchildren; parents of Denison; brothers, Jimmy Kelly, Donnell Kelly, Jesse Kelly, Charles Ray Kelly, Tommy Joe Kelly, Michael Kelly and Ronnie Kelly; sister, Frances Jenkins; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Victory Life Church in Sherman with Pastor Terry Brown officiating. Interment followed with military honors in West Hill Cemetery.
