SUSPECTS ARRESTED; ONE SOUGHT IN FATAL BEATINGS
El Paso (AP) - Police in El Paso are holding two men for investigation of murder in the fatal beating of transients, found in a railway car at the far West Texas City Sunday.
A 3rd is being sought.
Sheriff Robert Bailey said two men had signed a statement saying they had killed two men from Sherman in North Texas.  They were 54-year-old Audney Hollis and 60-year-old Ed Anderson.  Their bodies were found in an empty gondola car near Deming, New Mexico.  Apparently they had been beaten to death while their hands were tied behind them.
The two men being questioned are part of a group of about 45 transients picked up by El Paso police in the last few days.  Officers said both men implicated a 3rd man in their signed statements.  The name of the man being sought for questioning is given as James A. (Tex) Miller, age and home address unknown.  He is described as a muscular man with a number of tattoos.
The two dead men were found in a Southern Pacific Railway gondola stripped of any identification.  Police say the pair signed a statement that they took $15 from Anderson following the fatal beatings.
