Sherman - Funeral services for Don T. "Bud" Wallace were held Friday, September 28, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Sherman with Dr. James Pledger and Dr. Joe Dan Fowler officiating.  Pallbearers were Steve Keller, Harold W. Kinamon, Adam Robinson, Tom Robinson, Bill Sims and Jack Wall.  Private family commital services were held at West Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Wallace, 71, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Texoma Medical Center.
Bud was born August 18, 1941 in Sherman, son of Foy Wallace and Jennie C. Robinson.  He graduated from Gunter schools in 1959 and East Texas State University in 1963.  He and Leneta Gideon were married June 12, 1965 in Brownsboro, Texas.  Bud was a National Bank Examiner for 2 years before joining his father in 1965 at North Texas Construction Company in Sherman where he worked for the remainder of his career.
Bud was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Sherman, having served on the Board of Trustees for 15 years; he was active in the Sherman and Grayson Rotary Clubs, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow; he served on the Municipal Airport Board, the Sherman Parks and Recreation Board, the Executive Board of the Circle 10 Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Board of Directors for the local Salvation Army; he served as trustee of the Old Settlers Association of Grayson County; two terms on the Sherman City Council, as well as numerous bank boards during his career.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife of 47 years; sons, Greg Wallace of Sherman and Scott Wallace of Dallas; grandchildren, Jacek and Gavin Wallace of Sherman; sister Barbara Moses of McKinney; brother-in-law, Jerry Gideon and wife Molly of San Angelo; sisters-in-law, Sally Jones and husband Fowler of Edgewood, Texas; and Patsy Fowler and husband Joe Dan of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
