FRANK VADEN DEAD FOLLOWING OPERATION
Sherman, May 18 - Frank C. Vaden, one of the best known pioneer cattle and stock men of Grayson county, died at St. Vincent's sanitarium in this city at 9:45 o'clock last night, following a surgical operation.  Mr. Vaden was 68 years of age.

Graveside services for Tennie Vaden, 92-year-old retired school teacher, who resided in Bonham, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. She died Sunday, August 13, 1995, at Northeast Medical center in Bonham.  Dr. James Pledger, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Sherman, officiated.  Dannel Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Miss Vaden was born in Sherman on September 15, 1902, the daughter of Frank C. Vaden and Berta Lucas Vaden.
She attended Kidd Key College and received her degree in 1924 from Randolph Macon College in Virginia. She did graduate studies at the University of Michigan, University of Colorado and studied French in Grenable, France.
She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Association of United Women and the First United Methodist Church in Sherman.
Before her retirement in 1969, she taught in Sherman, Hockaday, Pearsall and Austin College schools, and was a substitute in Celina and Sherman. She taught French, Spanish, Latin and history and traveled extensively abroad.
Surviving are her nephew, Charles Beauchamp of Portland; nieces, Mary Sue Roach of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Judy Tucci, Debbie Smith and Marjorie Adams, all of Baldwyn, Mississippi; and cousins, Robert Brice of Sherman and Charles Vaden of Columbia, South Carolina.
