 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Van Alstyne Leader February 8, 1923 JOE C. TIPTON DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS Joe C. Tipton died at his home at 416 Park avenue, Sunday night at 9:45 o'clock, following a short illness with pneumonia. Mr. Tipton was 67 years of age. He was a farmer. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the late home, after which interment was in West Hill cemetery. Mr. Tipton was a native of Tennessee. He had resided in Sherman for a number of years. Surviving him are his wife and four daughters. The daughters are Mrs. Oscar Nichols of Van Alstyne, and Misses Nona, Myrtia, and Jimmie Tipton, residing at the family home. - Sherman Democrat. Mr. Tipton formerly lived south of Van Alstyne, and had quite a number of friends in this community who will hear of his death with regret and who will sympathize most sincerely with his family in their loss.
