Longtime Teacher Dies

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Travis Street Church of Christ for Miss Ivy Russell, 81, who died Friday night in a Sherman hospital.
She had been a school teacher for 48 years. Her home was at 408 S.Rusk.
Olden Cook, minister of the Travis Street Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Horton-Barrett Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bill Hefton, Loran Samford, Michael Muller, H.B. Stevens, Clarence Russell and Cliff Hestand.
Miss Russell was born in McKinney October 4, 1892 and came to the Sherman area in about 1904. She had taught in the Washington School in Sherman for over 30 years before her retirement about 18 years ago. She was a member of the Travis Street Church of Christ and the Walnut Street Church of Christ for more than 65 tears.
She is survived by: sisters, Mrs. W. E. Brown, Lamesa, Mrs. B. H. Womack, Silverton and Mrs. Michael Mueller, Dallas; brothers, Marshall F. Russell, Denison and Paul W. Russell, Dallas.
The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
