DR. W. L. MICHAEL DEAD

Well Known Physician Passed Away Suddenly This Morning.

Dr. William L. Michael died this morning at 6:30 o'clock at his home, No. 309 West Cherry street. His death was sudden and unexpected, though he had not been in very good health for some time. A few weeks ago in Kansas City and since then has been suffering with rheumatism. This finally reached his heart and was the immediate cause of his death.
Dr. Michael was on of the leading physicians of North Texas. He had practiced his profession in Sherman about 24 years and the news of his death will be the cause of genuine regret throughout this community.  Dr. Michael was born near Springfield, Illinois. He graduated from the Missouri State Medical College in Kansas City and was afterward connected with that institution in an official capacity. He went from Kansas City to La Cygne, Kansas, where he resided for some time and came from that place to Sherman.
Surviving him is his wife, who was Miss May Pitts of Sherman. He also leaves a brother
at Kansas City and a sister at Colorado Springs, Colorado. His daughter by his first marriage resides at Kansas City. She is Mrs. I.J. Ringolsky, nee Mamie Michael. She and her little son will arrive in Sherman tomorrow morning.
Dr. Michael was a member of the First Baptist church of Sherman. He was a member of the Knights of the Maccabees, the Foresters, the Woodmen of the World and a number of other lodges and fraternal societies. The Foresters, of which he was a member was organized in Sherman in 1902 and his is the first death that has occurred in the membership of the local lodge.  He was a lodge physician for a number of fraternal societies, a member of the Grayson County Medical Society and has also held places on medical boards in Iowa, Missouri and Kansas.
The funeral will take place at the family residence tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 5 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Forrest Smith and interment will be at West Hill cemetery.
