SHERMAN - Services were held Saturday at First Baptist Church for Norma Jean Martin, 57.  Our Sweet Angel who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday night at her residence.  Services were conducted by Rev. Bob Allen Retired Baptist Minister with burial at West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martin was born at Wilmot, Arkansas, daughter of Jerry Samuel Vail and Norma Foster Vail. She graduated from Bastrop, Louisiana High School and attended a year of Business College. She was married to Hubert Martin on April 18, 1950 in Bastrop, Louisiana and moved to Sherman in 1961. She was a homemaker and business partner with her husband in the air conditioning and heating business. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Sanctuary Choir.
Pallbearers were James Robert Jeffery, Robert Taylor, Bob Jeffery, Larry Capps, R. C. Patrick, and Robin Bridges.
Survivors are her husband of Sherman; sons, Samuel Ray Martin and wife Gayla, and Joey Dean Martin and his wife, Mickie; grandchildren, Leah, Rachael, Rebekah, and Mitchell Martin; brothers, David Vail of Virginia and Marvin Vail of Arkansas; sisters, Muriel Finney, Juanita Jeffery, Louise Hickingbottom and Francis Jeffery, all of Louisiana, Ellen Gregory of Houston and Arlene Straugh of Sherman.
