Took Place This Afternoon at Home of Judge and Mrs. H. O. Head.
The body of Sidney Wilson, who died in Oklahoma City yesterday morning reached Sherman via the Houston
and Texas Central railway at 6:10 o'clock this morning and was taken in charge by Haynes & Sporer, funeral
directors, and removed to the home of Judge and Mrs. H. O. Head on South Crockett street where it was held
until 3 o'clock this afternoon when the funeral services were held.
Services for the dead were conducted by Elder J. Lem Keevil, minister of the Central Christian church, after
which the body was laid to rest in West Hill cemetery.
The active pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were H.W. Head, Rowan Mills, Sidney Wilson, Henry O. Head,
F.A. Batsell, H.M. Thompson and W.H. Torian. The honorary pall bearers were: J.A.L. Wolfe, Eugene Craycroft, Lynn Hay, O.D. McReynolds, J.F. Madden, Dr. E.J. Neathery, Dr. O.C. Ahlers and A.T. Torian.
The remains were accompanied to this city by Mrs. Sidney Wilson, Mrs. H.O. Head, J. Cobb, Mrs. Cobb and Sidney Wilson of Sherman, a nephew of the deceased.
Mr. Wilson removed from Sherman to Oklahoma City about one year ago and has since that time been practicing
law in Oklahoma City.
At 9 o'clock this morning there was a meeting of the Grayson County Bar Association, presided over by Judge W.M.
Peck, to take action on the death of Sidney Wilson. A committee was appointed to draft suitable resolutions.
It was also decided that members of the bar, as many as possible, attend the funeral in a body and as a result of
this action the courts recessed at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
