Sherman Daily Democrat Thursday, January 12, 1911 Died at Home of R. E. Smith's Farm Yesterday Afternoon. Mrs. Ora Shelton, wife of J L. Shelton, died last night at the home of Col. R.E. Smith's farm 7 miles east of the city after an illness of some days. The deceased was a devout Christian and her untimely death is felt with deep regret on the part of the community and all who know her. She is survived by her husband and two small children. The funeral took place at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Key Memorial church, of which she was a member and services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.R. Atchley. Interment followed in West Hill cemetery. A long procession of the citizens of the community in which she resided followed the remains to the last resting place.
