 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Sherman Daily Democrat Wednesday, May 10, 1911 Pg 1 OLD COLORED CITIZEN DEAD Death claimed one of the few ante-bellum colored residents of Sherman, Reuben Offord, last night. He was past eighty years of age and leaves many descendants, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He came here nearly sixty years ago. His funeral will take place from his home, corner of East and Brockett streets, at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow and will be under the auspices of the colored Methodist Episcopal church.
