Sherman- A graveside funeral service for Margaret Sybil Howell were held at 12:00 noon Saturday, July 9th at West Hill Cemetery. Reverend Danny Wood of the West Sherman Baptist Church officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Howell passed away at the age of 92 at Pecan Point Assisted Living Care Facility in Sherman.
She was born Margaret Sybil Scoggins on August 27, 1918 in Dorchester Texas to the late A.B. and Eva (Thomason) Scoggins. Margaret enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse, working at various military hospitals across the country. She married Claudie Howell U.S. Army Master Sergeant, three times recipient of the Purple Heart from WW II and the Korean War. He preceded her in death in 1975.
After retirement, she moved from De Ridder, Louisiana to Dallas in 1981 and returned to Sherman in 2003.
Mrs. Howell is survived by her son's family, Ronald E. and Gail Howell of Houston; granddaughter, Amber Howell of Maryland; daughter and husband Ann Waguespack and Randy Jones of Galveston; one living sister with whom she had a very deep bond, Clemmie Scoggins of Sherman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Priscilla, Opal, and Hope Scoggins; and two brothers, Arthur Scoggins and J.R. Scoggins.

The family wishes to express a special l appreciation and gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice for their tender and loving care of Margaret.
