TRIBUTE TO VETERANS
Held by Mildred Lee Camp, Sunday Afternoon
Resolutions of Respect to the Memory of Comrades D.B. Cappleman and H.N. Tuck

The session of Mildred Lee Camp United Confederate Veterans yesterday was devoted to memorials, the following resolutions being adopted:
To the Commander of Mildred Lee Camp, U.C.V. We your committee appointed to prepare a biography and resolutions in reference to our deceased comrade, D.B. Cappleman, beg leave to submit the following:
Comrade D.B. Cappleman was born in South Carolina, October 14th, 1839.  He came to Texas November 19th, 1854 and settled in Grimes county.  He afterwards came to Grayson county and settled in Sherman where he resided until his death which occurred March 4th, 1911.  He enlisted in Company K, 20th Texas Infantry.  He participated in the battle of Galveston, January 1st, 1863.  It is said that he was a brave and gallant soldier and now he has passed from our ranks to join the ever increasing majority of comrades on the other side of the river, and as upon the tented field of battle he listened and lingered for taps the signal for rest and sleep, so at the close of an eventful life he awaits the welcome reveille on the resurrection morn when all shall come forth never more to appear in battle array.
Resolved, That we, his surviving comrades, tender his bereaved wife and children our deepest sympathy and condolence in this their hour of sad bereavement and that a copy of this sketch and resolutions be furnished the Democrat for publication and a copy be furnished the family.
Signed by Committee
