 Henry Alston Ivy, Jr. 5 November 1919 - 31 August 1976 Sherman Democrat August 31, 1976 Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dannel Chapel for Henry A. Ivy, 56, who died early Tuesday. Dr. Tom Brandon of First Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in West Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dannel-Horton-Barrett Funeral Home. Born in Sherman, he was the son of Henry A. and Myrtle Travis Ivy. He had lived here all of his life, attended Sherman schools and spent most of his adult life as a security guard in downtown Sherman. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was known to his many friends as "Doc". He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Marshall Anderson of Gunter, Mrs. Joe Dawson of Ola, Arkansas, Mrs. Charles Greene and Mrs. John T. Johnson, both of Sherman.
