William (Bill) Covington, Denison High School Class of 1979

William Edward Covington (Bill) of Offenbach, Germany, 52, a native of Denison, TX, died January 22, 2013. Bill was born October 30, 1960 to parents Ralph Edward and Margaret Hampton Covington.  He graduated from Denison High School in 1979 and The Denver Art Institute with a degree in Graphic Design and Advertising Design in 1983. 

Bill had a successful 25-year career starting out at the Dallas Market Center.  He left his mark in Germany when his logo was patented and chosen to light up the sky over Frankfurt on the Union Investment skyscraper.  He was with Advantage Design, Barry Blau and Partners, Wonderman Cato Johnson, Gordon Waters and Advance Design Center.  A few of the campaigns he worked on were Citi Bank Visa, Ford of Germany and Ford Euro, and BASF.  As an Art Director, he did conception design, photo direction, corporate identity programs, computer graphics, annual reports, direct advertising/marketing for magazines, brochures, catalogs, and newspapers for an international assortment of clients.

Survivors include his companion of 24 years, Romana West of the home, and brother, Jay Covington of Paris, AR.  Other survivors include his mother and step-father, Margaret and Jack Wade of Paris, AR, step-sister and step-brother, Dianne Wade Fraser and Mike Wade; his aunt and uncle, Vera Anne and Roland Humphrey; cousins, Sarah and Colin Humphrey and children.  Bill was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Edward Covington, October 29, 2012,  and niece, Katherine Humphrey Omelak.
