Herbert
trained his greyhounds, as did others in the area, to hunt coyotes.
Men and boys would go out at night with their dogs and
a flash
light to hunt the coyotes. There was a bounty on the
coyotes; the proof of kiill was a set of ears. Carcuses were
sold for as much
as $25.00 each.
