Her maiden name was Patterson, she married Joseph Stephens, his 3rd wife, on 16 Dec 1838 in Johnson Co., Mo. by J.B. Bullard, J.P. It reads above Sarah MOTHER-FATHER SISTER; Below the verse reads "No Pain No Grief No Anxious Fear Can reach the peaceful sleeper here." Mary, Sarah & Joseph Stephens share the same marker.
