Mary Frances (Cardwell) Gravette, 88, of Whitesboro, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was born February 16, 1932, daughter Bill and Lizzie  (Willingham) Cardwell in Beckham County, Oklahoma. She met Carl Gravette and they were married December 6, 1947.
Frances was the "Matriarch" of her family.  She was of Baptist faith and taught children Sunday School classes at the local church.  She worked at the sewing factory in Whitesboro for 16 years. She was a hard worker and instilled that quality along with many beautiful qualities in her children.  She had a gift for gardening, growing some of the most flavorable vegetables to share with others. Her cooking was the best, just ask anyone who tasted those delicious green beans canned from her garden.
Frances loved to laugh and had the greatest sense of humor, making her family laugh so hard it would bring tears to their eyes. She had fun going to the Casinos or playing dominoes and Wahoo at home around the dining table with the family.  Mos of all, she embraced life and enjoyed surrounding herself with the love and laughter of her family.
Frances is survived by her 3 children: 2 daughters, Brenda Spence and Ann Brinkley and husband, Jim; and her son, Eddie Gravette and wife, Tracey; 7 grandchildren: Sheri Davis; Richard Davis and wife, Linden; Joshua Wainscott and wife, Stacie; Cody Wainscott; Jeremy Gravette and wife, Shanna; Justin Gravette and wife, Megan; and Jana Riddle and husband, Ben; 16 great-grandchildren Logan, Trinity, Elizabeth, Kayla, Dyson, Sam, Alex, Megan, Dylan, Ian, Jase, Collin, Carlie, Cason, Ty and Shelby; 3 great-great-grandchildren: Laila, Cash and Zoe; 1 (Lawson) due this summer; and her sister, Nelladeane Greene; in addition to many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Dalford Cardwell, Earl Cardwell, Melvin Cardwell, Travis Cardwell, Dewey Cardwell, Sonny Cardwell, and Jerry Cardwell; sisters, Dorothy Aiken, Imogene Hames, Sis (Goldie) Smith; and great-grandson, Riley Hunter Riddle.
A graveside service was held at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro Wednesday morning, February 24, 2021. Tom Hames officiated at the graveside.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas - - - Fisher Funeral Home
