WHITESBORO - Funeral services for Nancy Jane Chancellor, 69, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Terry Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nancy passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian- WNJ Medical Center in Sherman.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1941 in Sherman to E.A. and Veta (Tipps) Murphy. She married Joe Chancellor on Feb. 15, 1958 in Whitesboro. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro. She had worked at Walsh's Grocery Store, Clinnon's, Dairy Queen and Whitesboro Schools. She also coached Little League Girls Softball.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Chancellor, Sr. of Whitesboro; a son, Joe Chancellor, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Whitesboro; three daughters, Janet Wooten of Whitesboro, Judy Taylor and husband Jackie of Lannius, and Janie Lewis and husband, Kevin of Gordonville; 10 grandchildren, Jeff Chancellor of Whitesboro, Jennifer Chancellor of Whitesboro, Rachel Stanley of Fort Worth, Ashley Wooten of Whitesboro, Erick Wooten of Sherman, Zachary Taylor of Sherman, Lauren Taylor of Lannius, Colin Taylor of Lannius, Tetter Trammell of Fort Worth and Roger Skinner of Gordonville; five great-grandchildren, Shane Chancellor of Whitesboro, Jacob West of Whitesboro, Braden Ordoff of Whitesboro, Aiden Stanley of Fort Worth and Forrest Skinner of Gordonville; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Lucy.
The family extends special thanks to the Davita Dialysis Center in Sherman and the Whitesboro Health & Rehab Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.A. and Veta Murphy; and a sister, Bobbie Ann Rodgers.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
