Shockley 2 March 1910 - 13 July 1981 Verty Shockley 26 November 1914 - 31 December 2003  Bennie Ruth West 23 March 1945 - 5 June 2009 Herald Democrat January 4, 2004 Whitesboro - Verty Shockley of Whitesboro died December 31, 2003 at the Whitesboro Nursing Home. A graveside service was held Saturday morning, January 3, 2004, at the Oakwood Cemetery, with Rev. Joe Patterson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Huff Funeral Home. Surviving are one son, Bill Shockley of DeKalb, Texas; four daughters, Vivian Braswell of Dallas; Charlene Smith of Greenville, Texas; Glenda Graham of Mineola, Texas; and Bennie West of Sandusky, Texas; two brothers, Bud Shockley and Clyde Clark, both of San Angelo; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
