He had served as municipal judge for 10 years. He was the former owner and operator of Salling Grocery in Whitesboro. He was born August 25, 1911 at Rush Springs, Oklahoma, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Salling. He married Odessa Guess on August 3, 1935 in Woodbine. Survivors are his wife; son, David Ralph; daughters, Doris Carney and Sandra Salling; his mother; his sisters, Mrs. Paul Briley and Mrs. Ray Lynch; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
