Hough 18 September 1919 - 31 August 1988  Funeral services for Ruth Beatrice Hough, 85, were held Friday, June 19, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Harold Watson officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitewboro. Ruth passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. She was born in Mena, Arkansas on August 9, 1923 to Walter Self and Iva Moore Self. Ruth was the consummate mother. She was very compassnionate and thought of others before herself. Ruth never lost her sweet spirit, her smile or her faith during the many tragedies that occurred in her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. Survivors include a son, Gary Hough, of Sherman; a granddaughter, Crystal Hough, of Denton; a niece, Linda Hicks of Lewisville; a great-niece; two great-nephews; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Steve Hough; granddaughter, Stephanie Hough; and three brothers, Walter Self, Jr., Kenneth Self, and Gene Self.
