Funeral services for Melba Ruth Burgin were held in Richards Chapel Sunday afternoon with Otis Proffitt officiating.  Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
Mrs. Burgin died Saturday in a Denison hospital following an extended illness. She was 54 years of age.
Born April 30, 1919 in Sherman, she was the daughter of Florence Pence and Henry Claude Franklin. She and Ollie B. Burgin were married December 23, 1941 in Madill, Oklahoma.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; son, Ollie B. Burgin, Jr. of Dallas; a granddaughter and one sister, Mrs. Esther McClenahan of Velma, Oklahoma.



Denison - Funeral services for Ollie B. Burgin, 96, were held Friday, October 9, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Ron Cunningham officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
Mr. Burgin passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison.  He was born February 8, 1913 in Ethel and graduated from Ethel High School.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in England and France.  Ollie was a member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in Denison, Denison VFW and an active member of the Midway Mall 42 Club.
Survivors include his son, Butch Burgin, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Duncanville; children of Mary Davis Burgin; Jerry Davis and wife, Pat; Dean Davis and wife, Doris; grandchildren, Nicole Burgin, Jeff Davis and wife, Gaye; Amy Rorer and husband, Keith; Mike Davis and Keith Davis and wife, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Kayla Davis, Megan Davis, Nathanie Rorer, Lori Davis, Nolan Davis, Kyle Davis and Kasey Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.
