George W. Brown, 84, died September 22, 2016 in Gainesville due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
He was born and raised in Whitesboro, Texas, August 30, 1932, son of Ed T. Brown and Nora Jane Moore.  He married Barbara Nowell July 22, 1961.  George served in the United States Army in the Korean War with an honorable discharge.  He worked as a maintenance director and retired from Oscar Mayer.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kevin Bond and granddaughter, Stephanie Eddleman.
George is survived by his wife and four children: George Paul Brown of Benbrook, Texas; Brenda Griffin of Bonham; Sharon Howard and husband, Phil, of Valley View; and Beverly Ehlers and husband, Douglas, of Riesel, Texas; and six grandchildren: Cherie Brown, Daniel and Morgan Griffin, Nathaniel and Rachel Bond, and Faith Ehlers. - - - Waldo Funeral Home


Funeral services for Barbara Jean Brown were held Saturday morning, March 30, 2019 at Waldo Funeral Home.  Rev. Steve Rice officiated and burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.  Mrs. Brown, 79, passed away, Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Pecan Tree Rehab Center in Gainesville.
Barbara was born March 5, 1940 in Hugo, Oklahoma, daughter of Johnny and Mildres Jones Nowell.  She attended Soper schools and married George Brown on July 22, 1961.  Barbara was devoted to her family and faith.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sherman.
Mrs. Brown is survived by one son, Paul Brown and wife, Mary, of Tom Bean; 3 daughters, Brenda Griffin and husband, Brad, of Bonham; Sharon Howard and husband, Phil, of Valley View; and Beverly Ehlers and husband, Douglas, of Riesel; 6 grandchildren, Cherie, Morgan, Daniel, Nathaniel, Rachel and Faith; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Stephanie; and son-in-law, Kevin Bond. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
