Lewis Carmon Brookshear, 76, died Wednesday in a Sherman hospital.  He was born November 26, 1903 in Whitesboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Brookshear.  He married Ruth Abigale Bohner November 30, 1924 in Southmayd.
Survivors are sons, L.C., Jr.; Jim, Homer, Joe, and Tom Brookshear; daughter, Patsy Taley; brothers, Virgil and Garland Brookshear; sister, Hattie Lee Savage; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Whitesboro - Funeral services for Charles Homer Brookshear, 84, were held at the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro, Rev. Ken Hildebrand officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
Homer passed away July 21 at his residence.
He was born  April 4, 1930 in Grayson Co., Texas, son of Lewis Carmen Brookshear and Ruth Bohrer.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro.  He owned and operated Brookshear Real Estate and was a volunteer firefighter.  He was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Teresa Stopher and husband, Robert, Gainesville; daughter, Debra Blagg and husband, Danndy, Denton; five grandchildren, Shelli Mahboub, Brian Pinkston, Jonathan Cole, Stacey Nemanic, MacKenzie Blagg; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Patsy Tuley of Whitesboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, L.C. Brookshear, Jim Brookshear, Joe Brookshear and Tom Brookshear; and granddaughter, Crystal Pinkston.
Pallbearers were his grandchildren.  Honorary pallbearers were L.V. and Melba Phelps, Claude and Lowaine Crook,  Don and Diane Chambers and Bob and Joretta Garvin.


Whitesboro - Funeral services for Ruth Helen Brookshear, 81, were held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro, with interment following at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
Ruth died March 23, 2015 in Collinsville, Texas.
She was born April 20, 1933 in Grayson Co., Texas to Joe Soloman Carney and Fannie Gillum.  She and Homer Brookshear married November 19, 1949 at McComb Methodist Church.  She was a member of First Methodist Church, Whitesboro; she worked as a beautician.
She is survived by daughter, Teresa Stopher and husband, Robert, of Gainesville; daughter, Debra Blagg and husband, Danny, of Denton; 
five grandchildren, Shelli Mahboub, Brian Pinkston, Jonathan Cole, Stacey Nemanic, MacKenzie Blagg; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Pearl Battaglia of Sherman and Paulette Pugh of Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; granddaughter, Crystal Pinkston; brothers, Emitte Carney, J.W. "Dub" Carney, and Earl Carney; and sister, Edna Dodson.
