Funeral services for Paul H. Briley, Jr.,89, of Sherman, Texas were held Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, Michael McCorkle and David Corder, officiating.  Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
He passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center, Sherman.
Paul was born September 18, 1926 in Gordonville, Texas, son of Paul H. Briley, Sr. and Julia Armstrong Briley.  He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1945 and went directly into the United States Navy, serving for 16 months through the end of World War II.  He and Wanda Salling married May 23, 1948 in Cooke Co., Texas, living 67 years together.
Paul started his career in the oil industry in 1947 with Falcon-Seaboard as a roughneck on drilling rigs and worked his way up to tool pusher.  He then joined Gulf Oil as a rig supervisor and progressed through the ranks to drilling manager with Chevron, retiring in 1986.  He was a longtime member of Center Street Church of Christ in Sherman.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Diane Clark and husband, Ray, of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Jason Clark and wife, Jennifer, of Montgomery, Texas, and Sarah Clark of Willis, Texas; three great-grandsons, Dylan Clark, Ryan Clark and Aidan Clark; sisters, Ruth Barnhart of El Reno, Oklahoma and Bonnie Willman of Grand Prairie, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Sue Briley, Monteena Green and Tajuana Lewter.
