 The Herald Democrat July 23, 2010 Sherman - On July 21, 2010, the kindest and most positive person we know went to Heaven to be with her Savior and family. Graveside services for Mary Katherine Thompson, 82, were held Saturday morning, July 24, 2010 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro with Rev. Leon Veazy officiating. Services were under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. She was born November 4, 1927 in Sherman, daughter of Rude R. and Mary Edna Foreman Stout. She married WIlliam F. Thompson, Jr. in Sherman. She was the former owner of Dub's Bargain Store in Whitesboro. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by son, Doyle Thompson and wife, Brenda, of Whitewright; daughter, Susan Bowley, of Sherman; son, Ray Thompson and wife, Jane, of Houston; 6 grandchildren, Amy Bowley of McKinney; Jeff Thompson and wife, Camille, of Whitesboro; Laura Thompson of Houston, Brian Bowley of Whitesboro; Shawna Koerner and husband, Joe, of Collinsville; and Heather Thompson of Whitewright; 3 great-grandchildren, Kyler, Bryce and Brant; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Jo Thompson; and brother, Col. Kenneth Stout.
