Whitesboro - Funeral services for Alice Eileen Cummings, 94, of Whitesboro were held Friday, August 10, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Hank Lovejoy.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Alice passed away peacefully Saturday, August 4, 2018 at her home in Whitesboro with her husband by her side.
She was born June 21, 1924 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma, daughter of Thomas Clifford and Alma Gladys Drake McCullough.  She married Walter Lee Cummings in Winter Haven, California on November 1, 1969.  Alice and Lee moved to Whitesboro in 1974 where she spent her time lovingly taking care of their home.  She was of the Methodist faith.
Alice is survived by her husband of 49 years; son, Robert E. Turner, Jr. and wife, Jean, of Auburn, Washington; daughter, Patricia Ann Turner Kephart of Spokane, Washington; grandchildren, Tandra Melville, Melissa Melville Luna and husband, Dr. Gregory Luna; John Henry Melville, III; Alyssa Koonce and husband, Sean; Arrie Scribner and husband, David; April Elston and husband, Nate; great-grandchildren, Alex Vanchu, Anna Hensley; Clare and Emma Sisich; Claire Fagerstrom, Kayli and Cameron Koonce; Allison, Rachel, Sarah, Jared, Jesse, Justin and Jordan Scribner; Zoe, Natalie, and Anthony Elston; great-great-grandson, Nikko Hernandez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cecil C. McCullough, Paul McCullough and Lester McCullough; sisters, Cleone Nelson and Raenell Pierce.


Whitesboro - Funeral services for Walter Lee Cummings, 97, of Whitesboro were held Monday, August 20, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, with Hank Lovejoy officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
Lee passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at his home in Whitesboro.
He was born November 17, 1920 in Mosheim, Texas to Lee Washington and Mary Mackey McRae Cummings.  After graduation Lee enlisted in the US Navy where he spent the next 20 years serving our country.  He served during World War II and his ship was on that had pulled out of Pearl Harbor shortly before the Japanese attack, that early December morning.
He married Alice Eileen McCullough on November 1, 1969 in Winter Haven, California.  He and Alice moved to Whitesboro in 1974 where Lee continued his trade as a welder.  Lee worked with the City of Whitesboro to build the fence that extends across Oakwood Cemetery.  Lee was of the Baptist faith.
Lee is survived by daughter, Mary Jean Garner; son, Robert E. Turner, Jr. and wife, Jean, of Autumn, Washington; daughter, Patriicia Ann Kephart of Hermiston, Oregon; grandchildren, Tandra Melville, Melissa Melville Luna and husband, Dr. Gregory Luna; John Henry Melville, III; Alyssa Koonce and husband, Sean; Arrie Scribner and husband, David; April Elston and husband, Nate; great-grandchildren, Alex Vanchu, Anna Hensley, Claire Sisich, Emma Sisich, Claire Fagerstrom, Kayli Koonce, Cameron Koonce, Alison Scribner, Rachel Scribner, Sara Scribner, Jared Scribner, Jesse Scribner, Justin Scribner, Jordan Scribner, Zoe Elston, Natalie Elston, Anthony Elston; and great-great-grandson, Nikko Hernandez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years; son, Robert Lee Cummings; brothers, Johnny Lee Cummings and Joe Cummings; sisters, Jewel Cummings, Fannie Kliebrink and Lola Casimir.
