Whitesboro - Funeral services for Ben C. Ragsdale, 88, were held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro with Rev. Jack Wallace and Rev. Glyn Rives officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.  Mr. Ragsdale passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Whitesboro.  Ben was born November 7, 1922 to Louis Benjamin and Lana Beatrice Henderson Ragsdale in Jacksboro, Texas.
He served in World War II as a fighter pilot in the US Army Air Corps, flying a P-47 "Thunderbolt,"  He said the plane had saved him many times over.
He married Johnnie Owen December 12, 1947 in Sherman, Texas.  He was employed by APAC Texas for 38 years, retiring as vice-president of the Asphalt Division in 1989.  Ben was a member of First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro.  He loved to hunt and fish, to be outdoors, and to work in his garden.  He loved his family and was crazy about his only granddaughter, Jacilyn.
He is survived by his wife; son, Donald G. Ragsdale of Whitesboro; daughter, Beverly A. Pierce of Cookeville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Jacilyn M. Pierce of Cookeville, Tennessee; brother, Louis Ragsdale; nieces, Vicki Tetreault; Linda Bellingham; Susanne Russell; and Marilyn Jenkins; nephews, Steve Ragsdale and Rodney Summy; sister-in-law, Olga Summy.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Ragsdale.

Whitesboro - Funeral services for Johnnie N. Owen Ragsdale, 93, were held Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017 at Meador Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Adam Spore officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Johnnie passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Homestead in Sherman.
Johnnie was born November 10, 1923 in Dexter, Texas, daughter of John W. and Nannie Maude Owen.  She married Ben C. Ragsdale on December 12, 1947 in Sherman.  Johnnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro and was a very active worker in the church.  She was a very involved mother and grandmother in her family's lives.  She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren greatly.
Survivors include a son, Donald G. Ragsdale of Whitesboro; daugther, Beverly A. Pierce of Cookeville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jaclyn M. Pierce-Cauthorne and husband, Tyler, of Cookeville, Tennessee; great-grandchidren, Jaxon and Ava Cauthorne.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
