Jerry "J.R." Elton Rawle, 82, of Celeste, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Texas.  A celebration of life service was held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Legacy Pointe Central Baptist Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Joe Patterson officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Rawle was born October 23, 1934 in Decatur, Texas where he was raised and attended school.  He was the first child of W.D. Rawle and Oma Jewel Nikirk Rawle.
On January 28, 1955 he married his sweetheart, Joy Elaine Rutherford of Bridgeport, Texas.  Jerry was a long time employee of HobbsTrailer in Dallas and later retired from National Trailer Sales.   Jerry and Joy lived for many years in Grapevine, Texas where they were faithful members of Bethel Baptist Church of over 30 years before retiring to live at Lake Texoma.
He is survived by his wife; his daughters, Faith Patrick and husband Douglas, of Haltom City; and Angela Wilson and husband, James, of Celeste; his sister, Melba Jean Rawle Haney and husband, Edwin, of Decatur; his sister-in-law, Billie Rawle of Decatur; grandchildren, Glenna Patrick, Jerri Watts and husband, Michael; Stephen Wilson and wife, Jeri; David Wilson and wife, Bethany; and Paul Patrick; great-grandchildren, Mimi Watts, Walker Wilson and Timothy Wilson.

Joy Elaine Rawle, 83, of Celeste, passed away of natural causes Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville, Texas.
A celebration of life was held Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Legacy Pointe Central Baptist Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Joe Patterson officiating.  Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitewboro.
Mrs. Rawle was born December 1, 1934 in Seminole County, Oklahoma before moving to Bridgeport, Texas where she was raised and attended school.  She was the first child of Velpeau Rutherford and Pauline Ford Rutherford.  On January 28, 1955 she married her sweetheart, Jerry Elton Rawle of Decatur, Texas.  Joy was a homemaker and an experienced seamstress, sewing for the public many years.  After her daughters were grown, she became an employee of Boy Scouts of America in Las Colinas, Texas, where she retired after 18 years of dedicated service.  Jerry and Joy lived many years in Grapevine, Texas where they were faithful members of Bethel Baptist Church for over 30 years before reitiring to live at Lake Texoma.
She is survived by her daughters, Faith Patrick and husband, Douglas, of Haltom City; and Angela Wilson and husband, James, of Celeste; grandchildren, Glenna Patrick, Jerri Watts and husband, Michael; Stephen Wilson and wife, Jeri; David Wilson and wife, Bethany; and Paul Patrick; great-grandchildren, Mimi Watts, Walker Wilson and Timothy Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Sherrie Lee Rawle; her parents; and brother, Larry Rutherford.
