Whitesboro - Funeral services for Dalton Ray Stone, 82, of Whitesboro were held Monday, May 7, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Dalton passed from this life into his eternal life on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
He was born on May 9, 1935 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Orville M. and Ruby Gladys Collum Stone Vannoy.  He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1954 to 1957.  He met the love of his life, Betty Lou Kees in Ft. Worth and they married on July 20, 1957 in Decatur, Texas.
Dalton had many jobs throughout his life; he worked for the Carrollton Fire department for 16 years prior to moving to Whitesboro.  In 1976 they moved to the area and together with his brother, Don and his wife, Carol, they began Don's Barbeque in downtown Dixie.  Dalton was a soft-spoken man who loved his family very much.  He was the family jokester who loved teasing and pulling pranks on everyone.  He was a very laid-back man who enjoyed fishing and life to the fullest, never to anger or get mad at anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Stone of Whitesboro; daughter, Karen Sartain; daughter, Sharon Vannucci and husband, Joe; daughter, Debbie Stone and husband, Glen Gregor; daughter, Diane Newton and husband Russel; daughter, Amy Collins and husband, Mac; sister, Betty McCall; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dalton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don Stone and Tommy Stone; and sisters, Mozelle Stone and Charlotte Stone; and grandson, Jonathan Newton.
Pallbearers were Joe Vannucci, Michael Vannucci, Glen Gregor, Dalton Gregor, Russel Newton, Mac Collins, Colt Wolf, Cody Wolf, and Billy Wolf.
