Whitesboro - Funeral services for Betty Gaddie, 87, of Whitesboro were held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro with Mike Bentley officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.
Betty passed away quietly on June 9, 2018 in Denton, Texas.
She was born on March 18, 1931 in Ethel, Texas to John Clifton and Velma Home Vannoy.  She married Grady Gaddie in Whitesboro on December 23, 1949 and they were married for 63 years prior to his passing.  She worked for Security Bank and retired from there after many years.  She loved gardening, bird watching, and spending time doing needlework.  She was a faithful member of the North Union Street Church of Christ of Whitesboro.  Betty was the kindest, gentlest, most sweet and loving woman, the true meaning of the word "lady".
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Thompson and husband, Ray, of Katy; granddaughter, Laura Thompson of Houston; brother, C.J. Vannoy of Whitesboro; sister, Sandra Cheatham and husband, Jerry, of Denton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Whitesboro - Funeral services for Grady Leon Gaddie, 87, were held Wednesday afternoon, January 23, 2013 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Mike Bentley officiating.  Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.  He passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman.
Grady was born October 2, 1925 to Gus and Effie  Gaskin Gaddie in Whitesboro.  Grady was a long-time resident of Whitesboro.  He married Betty Vannoy on December 23, 1949 in Whitesboro.  He was a member of the North Union Street Church of Christ.  He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.  He enjoyed gardening and fishing and building ornamental bird houses.  He was a man of the soil, well known for cultivating his "Grady Tomatoes," which had a wonderful taste and which he supplied to people throughout the county.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Jane Thompson and husband, Roy, of Houston; granddaughter, Laura Thompson, of Houston; sisters, Virginia Carter and husband, Paul, of Sherman; and Mary Lou Stinebaugh of Sherman; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Fae Wooten; and his infant daughter, Tina Kay Gaddie.
Pallbearers were Damon Vannoy, Clifton Vannoy, Jack Boston, Bobby Clay, Fred Gibbs and Jay Cheatham.
Honorary pallbearers were Morris Peregrine, Darden Fletcher and Harold Butts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Tipton Home, P.O. Box 370, Tipton, Oklahoma 73570.
