- Funeral services for Joshua Coleman Westbrook, 94, of Whitesboro,
were held October 24, 2009 with Rev. Frank Sargent and Bro. Jerry
Billings officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in
Whitesboro. Josh passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 at his current
residence in Denison. He was born October 6, 1915 in Dixie to Dave Tanner and Lona Elizabeth Jarrel Westbrook. He was married to Flaura Bell Quirl in March 1934. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, and fishing. His true passion was reading and studying the Bible. He was one of the founders of the Church of Jesus Christ in Whitesboro and was a minister of the gospel for over 70 years. Survivors include two daughters; a son, Rev. Don Westbrook and wife; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Judy Reeves; a great-grandchild, Colton Sidlauska; three brothers, Raymound Westbrook, Ray Westbrook, and Edgar Westbrook; and two sisters, Buena Westbrook and Hazel Tyler.
