Whitesboro - Funeral services for Rev. James Newton Crow, 89, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Randy Radell officiating.  Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
James passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Beacon Hill Nursing Center in Denison.
He was born on April 22, 1928 in Sadler, Texas to Jewel Newton Crow and Laura Della Smith Crow.  James graduated from Whitesboro High School.  He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict.  While stationed in France, he served as a Chaplain Assistant.  James was a graduate of Howard Payne University and attended seminary.  He married Patricia Jean Martin on December 23, 1981 in Whitesboro.  James was a farmer, rancher, preacher, and also retired from Proctor and Gamble.  He pastored several churches in the town of Dorchester, Whitesboro, Kingston, Oklahoma; Meridian, Oklahoma; Burlington, Colorado; and Sandusky, Texas.  James enjoyed raising registered Black Angus cattle and farming.S
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Petree and husband, Wayne, of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Rebekah Crow of Whitesboro; two sons, Bradshaw Crow and wife, Sharon, of Minnetonka, Minnesota; and Greg Crow of Ft. Davis, Texas; stepson, Chuck Caldwell and wife, Tanya, of New Braunfels, Texas; stepdaughter, Jeanette Whisenant and husband, Roger, of Sherman; grandchildren, Addision Witzel and husband, Trey; Jared Crow, Nick Crow, Chad Crow, Kelsey Crow, and Kirby Crow; a brother, Billy Don Smith and wife, Zoretta; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and previous wife, Dorothy Bradshaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Crow; two sisters, Marcene Armstrong and Willadean Leeper.
