Funeral services were held Sunday at Huff Funeral Chapel for Tammie Kay Cole, 13, who died Thursday of Reyes Syndrome, a fast growing brain tumor. Tammie reportedly became ill Wednesday night and was taken to a Sherman hospital.
The Sunday services were conducted by Rev. Glyn Rives of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro. Pallbearers were Jerry Patterson, Joey Chancellor, Jim Fitzhugh, Rick Gorms, Terry Hays and Marc Richardson. Interment was at Whitesboro Cemetery.
Tammy was born May 25, 1964, the daughter of the late Orville Lowell "Bud" Cole and Patsy Ruth Tuley.
She was an 8th grade student at Whitesboro Junior High School where she was a member of the basketball team and was an alternate cheerleader.
She is survived by her mother; step-father, William W. Tuley; brother, John Lowell "Butch" Cole; and sister, Kimberly Gayle Cole, both of Whitesboro; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carmon Brookshear and John Cole of Whitesboro.
